SATURDAY, MARCH 24 | 10 A.M.
MARKETPLACE PARK - SANTA CLARITA
On Saturday, March 24, the kids and families of March for Our Lives will take to the streets of Santa Clarita Valley to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today.
On March 24, the collective voices of the March for Our Lives movement will be heard.
The theme of the Santa Clarita Valley event is Demand Safe Schools. When we work together as a united, nonpartisan force in a common quest to engender safety in our schools, we will be unstoppable. The Santa Clarita Valley March for Our Lives team is determined to provide a platform that allows our community to form their own demands about how to keep our schools safe and voice those demands as a united group.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS /
WHO SHOULD COME TO THIS EVENT?
Everyone is welcome - community members, students, teachers, and supporters. This is a family-friendly event, and the more people who come together to show how strongly we feel about this issue, the better our voices will be heard.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I GET TO MARKETPLACE PARK - SANTA CLARITA?
Plan to arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a memorial followed by a rally. Students and prominent leaders will speak followed by a march.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE MARCH?
Protest signs, banners, costumes, puppets, flags, decorated umbrellas, anything that helps communicate your message. Hold it high for all to see. REMEMBER THIS IS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Orange is the color of solidarity in the fight against gun violence in America. We are asking that our participants wear orange or any outfit that represents the school they are representing. For example, Hart High School students would wear their Hart High School spirit wear. We want to show the community that we are uniting as one group for one common cause.

WHERE ARE WE MARCHING?
The march will begin at Marketplace Park at the conclusion of the rally. We anticipate the start time to be approximately 11 a.m. We have 3 routes planned in order to accommodate all attendees. (short route .5 miles / medium route 1.5 miles / long route 2.5 miles). All of the routes will conclude at Marketplace Park. We will march along the Newhall Ranch Road sidewalk/bike path between McBean Parkway and Bouquet Canyon Road.
WHAT ARE THE MARCHING RULES / LAWS?
According to City of Santa Clarita Mayor Weste, "It is imperative that the participants stay respectful of their surroundings and limit their gathering to the sidewalks only. Participants are not allowed to participate in the street or impede traffic and/or pedestrians in any way due to public safety." We will have volunteers and security to monitor attendees safety. The ACLU states, "if marchers stay on the sidewalks and obey traffic and pedestrian signals, their activity is constitutionally protected even without a permit." (Our permit is only for Marketplace Park) Marchers may be required to allow enough space on the sidewalk for normal pedestrian traffic and may not maliciously obstruct or detain passers-by."
WILL THERE BE FOOD FOR SALE?
Yes! We currently have 7 food trucks confirmed to attend this event.
